Salt Cottage is an absolute oasis. Tucked away on a quiet street, it offers the perfect balance of privacy and convenience. The moment you step inside, you can tell how much thought went into every detail—beautiful décor, comfortable furnishings, and all the amenities you could possibly need for a week-long stay.
The outdoor space is truly the highlight. The cottage sits right on a beautiful canal, creating a peaceful backdrop for morning coffee or evening sunsets. The pool and outdoor entertaining area are fantastic—spacious, relaxing, and perfectly set up for swimming, grilling, or simply unwinding.

This home is beautifully tucked away on the canal of Flamingo Island. This location is convenient to both shopping by land or enjoying the serene waters of the Gulf and Atlantic by boat. Salt Cottage is full of amenities and offered us generous dock space, a gorgeous pool, wonderful grilling space and spacious outdoor entertaining areas that we enjoyed with our family and friends. Fine details such as providing us with high end bedding and towels topped off each night and started every day with a smile of appreciation. Best spot in the Keys!

We had a fantastic week at Salt Cottage! The views were beautiful, the house was comfortable and spacious, and the outdoor areas were perfect for grilling, playing games, and swimming. Our stay at the the Salt Cottage Sombrero was peaceful and hassle free. The home is very well maintained and was impeccably clean upon check in. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, fishing from the dock, kayaking (with some manatees!) and playing the outdoor games provided. Inside the A/C kept us cool despite the hot temps outside. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

Beyond 5 Stars – Salt Cottage Sombrero is a Gem!

Salt Cottage Sombrero was amazing! I’ve stayed in many Airbnbs and sometimes when you walk in you get that “ugh” feeling but not here!! I can’t say enough about the property. The inside was spotless including the completely stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need, super cold A/Cs, very comfortable beds, a high chair and pack and play (which wasn’t expected but much appreciated since my great niece was with us), and even a few box type fans. The outdoor living space was awesome with beautiful lush tropical landscaping, an outside refrigerator not to mention a commercial grade ice maker- which my fisherman husband absolutely loved!! We brought our dog and the completely fenced yard was an added bonus! I wish I could give Salt Cottage Sombrero higher than five stars! My husband and I owned Airbnbs for 13+ years so I know the effort it takes to maintain a property the way this one is. Bert was a very responsive host! We will definitely be booking again – I can’t wait!!

Waterfront Paradise with Top-Notch Amenities

This was one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve ever had, huge thanks to Bert and Milly! Communication was outstanding from start to finish. The home is perfectly located on the water with spacious indoor and outdoor living, ideal for family relaxation and fun. The dock made boating with our center console super easy, and the commercial ice machine was a great touch. We loved how close it was to Sombrero Reef—snorkeling access was fast and easy. The freshwater rinse station for our boat and dive gear was incredibly convenient. It’s also just minutes to great restaurants and KMTH, where I took my wife up for a flight around the Keys. Thoughtful amenities and a well-kept property made it a truly memorable stay. We can’t wait to return!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property in Marathon! The location is perfect—nestled in a peaceful, quiet area that made it easy to unwind, yet just minutes from all the essentials like restaurants, shops, and beautiful beaches. The home was spotless and beautifully maintained, with a well-appointed kitchen that had everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable—we all slept so well each night!
One of the highlights was the amazing private pool—crystal clear, relaxing, and perfect for both morning swims and sunset dips. We also loved spending time on the dock, where we fished right from the property and spotted pelicans gliding by and even a friendly manatee who made a few appearances! It was such a special touch that made our stay feel truly connected to the natural beauty of the Keys.
This home is a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm. We can’t wait to come back!
